Handout for a talk given at the IMS Stuttgart on
January 27th, 1996.
In this talk we argue that it is possible to adopt an unambiguous syntactic
position for adverbs in German sentence structure and still derive all
possible readings of a sentence. The ideas developed in this talk
form the foundation for the analysis of adjuncts in an HPSGrammar
of German in
